About Us

Vakuta/PNG Help Group Australia Inc started out in 2003 as a cell group of the Ryde City church. It was formed in response to a plea from Grace Hull to help her village people in Vakuta Island, Who are struggling with the lack of basic resources.

Initially called Vakuta Relief Fund, The group was no more than church friends and family wanting to do some charity work. Since then however, the group has been able to not only initiate but also fund and deliver a handful of projects to Vakuta and its people that have changed their lives for the better, even if only a little.

Our Mission Statement
Together we stand by faith in God, giving a helping hand to change attitudes and build Godly values and character to make a difference in rural Papua New Guinea.

Commitment To Our Mission

After every Independence Day Celebration, we will focus on Provinces in the rural areas of PNG with projects in aid and other resources as needed by the people.

ACHIEVEMENTS Some of the groups successful projects include

  • Distribution of 200 bibles,
Purchase of 6 wter pumps, installation of 5 and one still to be installed in the village,
Delivery of a 20 foot container full of secondhand clothes toys and school books.

The groups operating expenses have mostly been funded by  generous donations, But it has also managed to raise money through fruit & vegetable deliveries, car washes, tennis competitions and other fundraising activities.

PLANS Our target projects are:

  • To construct a school library / church building for Vakuta,

  • To install water pumps in the village of Pomio in Rabaul,

  • To collect and ship school books for the pomio library, with the help of the Rotary Club of Sydney,

  • To ship another container load of secondhand clothes, toys and school books to 6 other villages.

We also aim to help in prevention of the spread of HIV/AIDS by Educating the young generation of today.  We also promote community Sports and provide pig fences, chicken wires, fishing nets and sewing machines to rural community. This enables the youth to farm pigs and chickens and catch fish, while the women learn how to sew. These skills can then be used to help the people to become self-reliant in their own community.

Philippians 4:8 in the Bible says

Finally brothers whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

God Bless PNG

God Bless Our Country, God Bless Our Nation, And God Bless Our People.
Together we stand by faith in God, to work with a passion to make a great difference for His Glory!!

Our ultimate goal is to help the village people in the rural areas of PNG to become self reliant with our help. - Getting the rural Papua New Guinea people to work for themselves and their community to build that self reliance in Nation Building for tomorrow.
